New Jersey is a U.S. state located in the northeastern part and the mid-Atlantic regions. On the North and East, New York can be found while the Atlantic Ocean can be found on the southeast. For over 2,800 years, New Jersey was inhabited by Native Americans. Historical tribes like the Lenape was found along the coast. Most of the industrial revolution success in New Jersey was possible as a result of factories erected in the cities of Paterson, Newark, Trenton, Camden and Elizabeth. Trenton is the state’s capital city, while Newark is the largest.
New Jersey is a culturally-diverse state with a large portion of urban area. Also, English is the official language of the state, spoken by 69.4% of the total population. Other spoken languages in New Jersey also include Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Indic. - William Parker Foulke discovered the first virtually complete skeleton of a dinosaur in North America. It was unearthed in Haddonfield, New Jersey.
- The first boardwalk in the world was created in Atlantic City in 1870 to simply reduce the amount of sand going into nearby hotels as well as railroad cars. Soon after, hotels, restaurants and shops were established along the coast.
